Hello, and welcome to the website that has everything you need to know about the Galway bid to host the European University Debating Championship in 2011!

On behalf of The Law Society (LawSoc) and Literary and Debating Society (Lit&Deb) of NUI, Galway, and the National University of Ireland, Galway, it gives us great pleasure to announce that Galway is bidding to host Euros 2011. We are all so excited about this fantastic opportunity, and have so many excellent resources at our fingertips, that we have every confidence that the Galway bid will fulfil not only the practical requirements of hosting such a prestigious competition, but will elevate the standards to unprecedented new heights!

We believe that in recent years, the EUDC has expanded and developed to such an extent that in order to do the competition justice, work has to begin much earlier than the traditional 12 month period dictates. We are proud to be leading a team of dedicated individuals in the earliest announced campaign yet. We have months of work behind us already, and feel strong and ready for the long, hard slog ahead. This team has many years of experience in both attending and running debate competitions, and the core of passion that runs through each individual will be evident in every aspect of our bid, and the competition, if we are fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to host it by the debaters of Europe.
